School's Out Forever!!! Oh yeah, and My Internship's Over...

Last day of law school was yesterday!!!!!!  I only have one final exam in two weeks, and then I start studying for the bar exam.  Soooo exciting!!

Unfortunately, now that the semester is over, my internship at the DA's office is over too.  I worked there for 2 1/2 months, and loved every minute of it.  I had the opportunity to prepare over 30 preliminary hearings (kind of like mini-trials, but not quite at that stage of the process), and I actually conducted 12 of them.  I had to read the case files, do some research, decide which witnesses to use, and then question the witnesses on the stand.  I learned a tremendous amount, and now I'm even more sure of my desire to be a prosecutor.  It was a great experience, and I'm so glad I did it.  I just hope that they start hiring again after I pass the bar exam!  I'll be crossing my fingers...

Random Fall Adventures

Quick rundown of this fall's fun adventures...

August

Spent a few days in Pismo with my Dad before school started, took Nieve & Spike to the beach, took pictures of flowers, and saw some old friends.

Hiked up to the waterfall in Forest Falls, and taught Nieve to fetch sticks in the water...

Went shooting with some cool people from school...

Hiked to Heart Rock Falls in Crestline...

September

Went bowling, hung out with Kelly...

Grew some pretty Dahlias in my backyard...

Went fishing at Jenks Lake in the mountains for Labor Day... very crowded, didn't catch any fish...

Took Nieve on her 2nd hike up to Zanja Peak... 5 or 6 miles roundtrip, saw some cool plants on the way up...

Went to Venice Beach to see the crazies. It was National Homeless Awareness Day, but surprisingly few crazies were out & about that day...

 

Had a nice dinner at a fancy restaurant on Rodeo Drive.  Forgot to take a pic there, so this is us before we went out...
